About the Position
Our teacher of social studies, religion, and history will be on parental leave, and we are now seeking a substitute starting 8/13 to have the opportunity to work in parallel with the current teacher for a few weeks.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school teaching degree with certification in social studies, history, and religion. If you also have previous experience teaching these subjects, we consider that an asset for the position. We want you to be comfortable with governing documents such as school law and curriculum, and that you work formatively. You should be well versed in the Swedish language and have the ability to teach in an inspiring way in the classroom. You will also serve as a mentor for a class, and it is an asset to have mentoring experience. As a person, we see that you have strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues. It is also important that you are self-directed, have drive in your teaching, and are accustomed to making your own decisions. We expect you to contribute with commitment based on your personal qualities and have a professional approach. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and can build trusting relationships with students. You are a clear and creative leader in the classroom and adapt your teaching based on the students' needs.
Terms
Fixed-term employment at 100% full-time, starting 8/13 2026 through 2/1 2027 with possibility of extension. To be employed at Berga Natural Sciences Upper Secondary School, a copy of a criminal record check must be provided. About Us
Berga Natural Sciences Upper Secondary School is located in Västerhaninge outside Stockholm and is owned and operated by Dille Gård AB. Berga is an upper secondary school with just over 200 students. We have a farm with crop cultivation, cattle, and sheep. We have extensive equestrian facilities with our own riding hall. For students from far away, there is a residential dormitory with just over 100 places. The farm covers 600 hectares, which gives the school a unique location for Stockholm County, just 30 minutes by commuter train from Stockholm Central Station. Since 1921, young people have been trained in agriculture at Berga, although the farm's history extends considerably further back in time.
