Arvika Municipality is seeking a Secondary and Adult Education Director who wants to lead, coordinate, and develop secondary and adult education in the municipality. The role is central to creating a long-term sustainable, attractive, and high-quality educational operation – for students, employees, and society at large. About the AssignmentAs Secondary and Adult Education Director, you are responsible for secondary school and adult education with approximately 165 employees and an annual budget of approximately 170 million SEK. You report to the School Director and are part of the School and Education Management Group. The operation faces several important development issues, including: need for increased coordination between secondary school and adult education economic balance and long-term sustainability strengthened collaboration with the business community, other municipalities, and internal stakeholders further strengthening the attractiveness of secondary school – both for students and employees You lead through your principals and have overall responsibility for finance, personnel, work environment, and business development. Key Collaboration AreasIn the role, you collaborate among others with: School and Education Management Group Political arenas (committees, etc.) Labor organizations (department councils, negotiations) Primary school, Social Services, and AMI (Employment and Integration), and other internal stakeholders. External actors linked to skills supply and the business community. You are also an important ambassador for Arvika Secondary School and Adult Education, both locally and regionally. Who Are You?We are looking for you who are a clear, confident, and collaborative leader with the ability to combine structure and analysis with development power and creativity. You have good financial awareness and can communicate the operation's needs and conditions in a pedagogical way, even in political contexts. You express yourself very well in speech and writing and are accustomed to producing reports, analyses, and decision materials. QualificationsWe are looking for you who have: higher education with a pedagogical focus or other education that the employer deems relevant experience in management positions within school and/or education good understanding of municipal organization and political governance experience with budget responsibility and financial monitoring Meritorious: previous assignment as secondary school director and/or adult education director/school director experience as principal in secondary school or adult education and ready for the next step experience in major change and development work Personal Qualities We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
