Guldtid offers personal companionship and social support to people who want more community and better opportunities to do things that are important or meaningful to them. Our customers might be older persons or people living with a disability or the consequences of an illness. We are a complement to public healthcare and care services. We do not provide the same services as, for example, home care services. Our companionship persons are called Golden Friends. Each customer is matched with a Golden Friend based on needs, personality, interests, language, and availability. The goal is a safe and long-term relationship. Golden Friend for an older person in Tumba We are now looking for a Golden Friend for an older person with dementia living in a care facility in Tumba. The customer desires social companionship, activities, and company. Visits can include conversations, walks, playing games, and sometimes an outing or a café visit. For this position, we are looking for a warm, calm, and attentive person who can build a good relationship. You need to be able to take initiative while also adapting the visit to the customer's wishes and condition of the day. Location: Tumba Scope: One meeting per week, alternating between two and three hours. Start: As soon as possible Length of assignment: Long-term Special requirements for the assignment You have experience meeting people with dementia. You are warm, calm, and attentive. You can take initiative for walks, café visits, and other activities. You can set aside a fixed time each week over an extended period. Meritorious for the assignment Nursing assistant education or other relevant education. Experience working with older persons. Experience working in care facilities. About working as a Golden Friend As a Golden Friend, you meet the same customer regularly on a fixed day and time. The content of the visits is adapted to the customer's wishes, needs, and circumstances. Customers have different needs. For example, it could be: an older person who wants conversation, company, and someone to share their interests with, a person who needs company to get out from their care facility, a person who, after illness or due to a disability, needs support to see friends and participate in activities and community life, a person with dementia who needs calm, security, and social presence. Visits can include: conversation and social companionship, walks and outings, café and restaurant visits, reading aloud, music, games, or other interests, support in staying in contact with friends and family, company during errands and activities, community, communication, and presence beyond words, for example through music or reading aloud. The work requires you to be able to adapt to the customer's condition of the day and let the customer's needs guide the visit. We are looking for someone who enjoyed meeting people, has great empathy, and can create security through calm, presence, and respect. You are comfortable even when the meeting is not based on typical conversation, but rather involves being present and creating a safe and meaningful moment. You can work independently and take responsibility for ensuring that visits take place in a safe way. General requirements You have the ability and desire to meet the same customer over an extended period. You can set aside the same day and time regularly. You are calm, attentive, reliable, and responsible. You respect the customer's self-determination and integrity. You speak and understand Swedish well. General merits Experience working with older persons. Experience with dementia or mental health issues. Experience working with people with disabilities. Nursing assistant education or other relevant education. Scope of work Once you have completed the recruitment process and been approved, you become part of Guldtid's Golden Friends database. After that, you may be matched with one or more customers. The number of work hours depends on customers' needs and which assignments you are matched with. Guldtid therefore cannot guarantee a certain level of employment or a certain number of hours. The work is best suited as additional work or part-time employment. It can advantageously be combined with, for example, studies, another part-time job, retirement, or other flexible employment. Once you have been matched with a customer, you need to have the ability and intention to meet the customer regularly over an extended period. The requirement for long-term commitment is important for the customer's security and continuity. This does not mean that Guldtid guarantees an assignment for a certain period. There may be an opportunity to later be matched with additional customers if your availability and customers' needs align.
