Guldtid offers personal companionship and social support to people who want more community and better opportunities to do things that are important or meaningful to them. Our customers may for example be older people or people living with a disability or the consequences of an illness. We are a complement to public health and care services. We do not provide the same services as, for example, home care. Our companions are called Golden Friends. Each customer is matched with a Golden Friend based on needs, personality, interests, language, and availability. The goal is a safe and long-term relationship. Golden Friend for Finnish-speaking older person We are looking for a Finnish-speaking Golden Friend for an older person in Södertälje. The customer has dementia and needs calm, security, and social presence. Verbal communication may be limited. Therefore, you need to be able to create connection and community in other ways, for example through music, reading aloud, walks, and coffee breaks. You need to be able to adapt the visits based on the customer's condition and be attentive to the customer's expressions and wishes. Location: Södertälje Scope: 2-4 h per week Start: As soon as possible Duration of assignment: Long-term Specific requirements for the assignment You speak fluent Finnish. You have experience meeting people with dementia. You are comfortable in meetings where verbal communication may be limited. You can create connection through calm, presence, and attentiveness. Meritorious for the assignment Nursing assistant education or other relevant education. Experience working in care and residential facilities. Knowledge of Finnish culture, music, and traditions. About working as a Golden Friend As a Golden Friend, you meet the same customer regularly on a fixed day and time. The content of the visits is tailored to the customer's wishes, needs, and circumstances. Customers have different needs. For example: an older person who wants conversation, company, and someone to share their interests with, a person who needs company to get out of their care and residential facility, a person who after illness or due to a disability needs support to meet friends and participate in activities and community life, a person with dementia who needs calm, security, and social presence. Visits can include: conversation and social community, walks and outings, café and restaurant visits, reading aloud, music, games, or other interests, support in staying in touch with friends and family, company during errands and activities, community, communication, and presence beyond words, for example through music or reading aloud. The work requires that you can adapt to the customer's condition and let the customer's needs guide the visit. We are looking for you who likes meeting people, has great empathy, and can create security through calm, presence, and respect. You are comfortable even when the meeting is not based on regular conversation, but more on being present and creating a safe and meaningful moment. You can work independently and take responsibility for the visits taking place in a safe manner. General requirements You have the prerequisites and desire to meet the same customer over a longer period. You can set aside the same day and time regularly. You are trustworthy, attentive, reliable, and responsible. You respect the customer's self-determination and integrity. You speak and understand Swedish well. General merits Experience working with older people. Experience with dementia or mental health issues. Experience working with people with disabilities. Nursing assistant education or other relevant education. Scope of work Once you have completed the recruitment process and been approved, you become part of Guldtid's Golden Friends database. After that, you can be matched with one or more customers. The number of work hours depends on the customers' needs and which assignments you are matched with. Guldtid therefore cannot guarantee a certain level of employment or a certain number of hours. The work is best suited as supplementary work or part-time work. It can advantageously be combined with, for example, studies, another part-time job, pension, or other flexible employment. Once you are matched with a customer, you need to have the prerequisites and intention to meet the customer regularly over a longer period. The requirement for long-term commitment is important for the customer's security and continuity. It does not mean that Guldtid guarantees an assignment for a certain period. There may be an opportunity to later be matched with more customers if your availability and the customers' needs fit.
