Guldtid offers personal companionship and social support to people who want more community and better opportunities to do things that are important or meaningful to them. Our customers might be, for example, older people or people living with a functional variation or the consequences of an illness. We are a complement to public care and health services. We do not provide the same services as, for example, home care. Our companionship providers are called Golden Friends. Each customer is matched with a Golden Friend based on needs, personality, interests, language, and availability. The goal is a safe and long-term relationship. Golden Friend needed for an older person in Bromma We are now looking for a Golden Friend for an older person with dementia who lives in a care facility. The customer wants to get out of the facility. The visits may include walks, café visits, museum visits, and other outings. The customer uses a wheelchair. For this assignment, we are looking for a warm and positive person who can take initiative and create a pleasant time together. You need to be comfortable with conversation sometimes being limited and understand that companionship can also be about being present and experiencing things together. You need to maintain your positive energy and commitment even when it takes time to build connection. You also need to feel comfortable accompanying a person with cognitive difficulties to cafés, museums, and other public environments. You can create safety and community even when conversation is limited. You have a warm, positive, and stable manner. You can take initiative for walks, café visits, and other outings. You are comfortable accompanying a person with cognitive difficulties in public environments. You can drive and handle a wheelchair safely. Meritorious for the assignment Nursing assistant certification or other relevant education. Experience working in care facilities. Experience planning and carrying out activities with people with dementia. About the work as a Golden Friend As a Golden Friend, you meet the same customer regularly on a fixed day and time. The content of the visits is adapted to the customer's wishes, needs, and circumstances. Customers have different needs. This could be, for example: an older person who wants conversation, companionship, and someone to share their interests with, a person who needs companionship to get out of their care facility, a person who after illness or due to a functional limitation needs support to meet friends and participate in activities and community life, a person with dementia who needs calm, safety, and social presence. The visits can include: conversation and social community, walks and outings, café and restaurant visits, reading aloud, music, games, or other interests, support in maintaining contact with friends and family, companionship during errands and activities, community, communication, and presence beyond words, for example through music or reading aloud. The work requires that you can adapt to the customer's daily condition and let the customer's needs guide the visit. We are looking for you if you enjoy meeting people, have great empathy, and can create safety through calm, presence, and respect. You are comfortable even when the meeting is not based on typical conversation, but rather is more about being present and creating a safe and meaningful time. You can work independently and take responsibility for ensuring that the visits take place safely. General requirements You have the ability and desire to meet the same customer over a longer period. You can set aside the same day and time regularly. You are safe, attentive, reliable, and responsible. You respect the customer's self-determination and integrity. You speak and understand Swedish well. General merits Experience working with older people. Experience with dementia or mental health challenges. Experience working with people with functional variations. Nursing assistant certification or other relevant education. Scope of work Once you have completed the recruitment process and been approved, you become part of Guldtid's Golden Friends database. After that, you can be matched with one or more customers. The number of work hours depends on the customers' needs and which assignments you are matched with. Guldtid therefore cannot guarantee a certain level of employment or a certain number of hours. The work is best suited as supplementary work or part-time work. It can be advantageously combined with, for example, studies, another part-time job, pension, or other flexible employment. Once you are matched with a customer, you need to have the ability and intention to meet the customer regularly over a longer period. The requirement for long-term commitment is important for the customer's safety and continuity. This does not mean that Guldtid guarantees an assignment for a certain period. There may be an opportunity to later be matched with more customers if your availability and the customers' needs align.
