The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages closed youth care. We do this at youth institutions and homes for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your working life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Institution Stigby on Visingsö has capacity for 35 young people and accepts non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality and substance abuse. We are divided into an MBB department (reception and needs assessment), four treatment departments and a discharge preparation department in Jönköping. As a group leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children and young people and staff members. In the role, you work actively in the operational care and treatment work on the department. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading and distributing the daily work. You act as a role model and promote that work is conducted fairly and in accordance with applicable guidelines, methods and set goals. You keep the unit manager on your department continuously updated on matters that may affect the work environment, care and treatment environment or deficiencies in operations. Introduction and mentoring of new employees is also part of your work. You are part of a team with the unit manager and treatment secretary and you will have close collaboration to jointly create good results. In the role, certain institution-wide work tasks may be included, such as leading and distributing resource assignments, recruitment work and/or standby duty. SiS is in a period of growth and development, which requires innovative thinking and adaptability. We are looking for someone who thrives in a changing environment, is flexible, and is prepared to take on new work tasks and working methods as operations develop. Qualifications To thrive and succeed in the role as group leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. The operational work and contact with young people is your main focus. You are good at planning, organizing and prioritizing work in an efficient manner and are clear in your communication with others. At the same time, you are attentive and affirming in your interactions with young people and staff and are good at building relationships. You have a professional approach and a good ability to collaborate and to understand others' perspectives. The work is sometimes challenging and requires that you are stable and remain calm even in stressful situations. You should also have: University education of at least 180 credits with a focus on social sciences, healthcare or behavioral sciences, or alternatively other education combined with work experience that SiS considers equivalent Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both in writing and orally Meritorious: Several years of documented work experience from work within SiS or other activities focused on care, treatment and safety, such as for example social services, healthcare and treatment, criminal care or other relevant activities Experience of administrative work Experience of recruitment Experience of developing and implementing working methods Experience of pedagogically supporting employees in new working methods At SiS we care for good leadership.
