About the Organization The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored coercive care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also executes closed institutional care for youth. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse problems throughout the country. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården accepts non-compulsory school age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Gudhemsgården has recently undergone an organizational change, transitioning from LVM care to LVU care, and is now in an exciting expansion phase. Currently, the institution consists of four units, but will expand to five units with a total of 33 places during the coming year. Job Description We are now recruiting a group leader for our Gudhemsgården facility in Falköping. There are units for intake and needs assessment (MBB) and treatment. An MBB unit often represents the young people's first contact with coercive care, with a focus on stabilizing the young person's situation and well-being. This requires a strong emphasis on trust-based and relationship-building work to break patterns of socially destructive behavior such as criminal activity or substance abuse. In the treatment unit, the task also includes offering treatment based on each child's and young person's individual needs and the social services' plans and directives to SiS. As a group leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children and young people/clients and staff members. In this role, you work actively in day-to-day care and treatment on the unit. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing daily work. You serve as a role model and promote work that is conducted lawfully and in accordance with applicable guidelines, methods, and established goals. You keep the unit manager on your unit continuously updated on matters that could affect the work environment, care and treatment environment, or deficiencies in operations. Introduction and mentoring of new employees are also part of your work. You are part of a team with a unit manager and treatment secretary, and you will have close collaboration to achieve good results together. Qualifications To thrive and succeed as a group leader, you are motivated by working with and helping people in vulnerable life situations. Operational work and contact with young people/clients is your primary focus. You are skilled at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work efficiently and are clear in your communication with others. At the same time, you are attentive and affirming in your interactions with young people/clients and staff, and skilled at building relationships. You have a professional approach and a strong ability to collaborate and understand others' perspectives. The work is sometimes challenging and requires you to remain stable and calm even in stressful situations. You should have: A relevant university degree in social sciences, healthcare, or behavioral sciences, or other education combined with work experience that SiS considers equivalent. Work experience from SiS and similar assignments is highly valued. For a group leader to be appointed as acting unit manager and/or be part of management rotation, the person must have a university education of at least 180 university credits with a focus on social sciences, healthcare, or behavioral sciences.
