Welcome to us We are seeking two leisure leaders with shared responsibility for leading, structuring, and developing work methods to achieve the unit's goals of offering safe, inspiring meeting places with a broad range of offerings that reach all children and youth in the district. The Youth Leisure unit consists of two youth centers for ages 13–17 and five play parks that welcome both children and adults, but with a focus on elementary school children/youth ages 10–12. Leisure activities aim to promote meaningful leisure time for the district's children and youth. Our focus for the year is to: Offer safe meeting places for children and youth Expand democratic work through youth participation in Yard Councils, Park Play & Youth Councils Strengthen collaboration with our closest partners such as schools and field assistants Continue implementing the Park Play and Youth Center strategies Make sure we have a lot of fun together along the way! You will have close collaboration with the unit manager around activities driven by active employee engagement characterized by teamwork, as well as wellness benefits. Your role As a leisure leader with group leader responsibility, you work together with and serve as a link between the unit manager and the work team to ensure that the city's overall governing documents, the department's procedures, and the unit's goals are implemented in daily operations. You assist the unit manager in identifying needs and implementing routines, processes, and new ways of working. You are expected to support the unit manager in daily operational work, plan and oversee staffing, schedule shifts, handle sick leave reports, and when needed, assign substitute staff. The role does not include any separate operational, financial, personnel, and occupational health and safety responsibility. Other work tasks include coordinating planning of attractive and meaningful activities, marketing together with colleagues, posting information on social media, participating in developing the daily range of activities, supporting colleagues in daily work with target groups, and introducing new employees together with the unit manager. You will be scheduled for operations, work outreach, and conduct classroom presentations together with members of the staff. Your skills and experience We are looking for someone who has: A degree from at least a two-year education from a university or folk high school with a focus on pedagogy, behavioral science, such as Social Worker, Leisure Leader, or equivalent Several years of experience as a group leader/coordinator or activity developer within open youth activities Experience leading employees Experience working with children and youth, preferably within open leisure activities or school Familiarity with the Office package Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish It is meritorious if you have: Experience with scheduling in scheduling software Experience with project creation and process supervision Worked in public sector activities Training in motivational interviewing (MI) We hope you enjoy working operatively and directly under the unit manager with close leadership.
