Hagaskolan in central Umeå is a K-9 school with an adapted primary school grades 1-6 and hearing services. We have approximately 600 students and 100 educators at the school. We have access to a full-time IT pedagogue in the school area and we constantly use technology as a tool in learning. Hagaskolan is one of Umeå municipality's practice schools, which means that during the school year we receive teacher students for their work-integrated learning (VFU). Work Tasks
In this position, you will teach music primarily for grades 4-9. Your task as a primary school teacher is to plan and conduct instruction based on the curriculum, as well as to do more comprehensive planning together with colleagues. You shall individually and together with colleagues monitor, evaluate, and analyze instruction as well as assess and document students' knowledge development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to students' achievement of learning goals. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's knowledge development and sometimes, individually or together with a colleague, for mentor responsibilities.
About You
You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary instruction based on students' needs. You share your knowledge and experience to contribute to collaborative learning. An important part of the teacher role is to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements
Teacher certification and authorization to teach music in primary school
Experience teaching music in primary school
Valid police clearance certificate
Good proficiency in Swedish language, both spoken and written
