With proximity to Gammlia, Stadslidens outdoor recreation area, and Bräntberget, there are great opportunities for exciting outdoor activities. Here, qualified teachers with extensive experience work together with recreation staff who are also involved in school activities. Berghemsskolan is one of Umeå municipality's practice schools, which means that during the school year it receives teacher students for their work-based training (VFU). Feel free to take a virtual tour of the school here! We are now seeking an elementary teacher for instruction in Grade 1 during the fall semester! Employment Information The position is a fixed-term full-time employment starting 2026-08-10 through 2026-12-18. Job Duties In this position, you will work in Grade 1. Your task as an elementary school teacher is to plan and conduct instruction based on the curriculum as a classroom teacher, but also to do broader planning together with colleagues. You will individually and together with colleagues follow up, evaluate, and analyze instruction as well as assess and document students' academic development. You are responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that contributes to student achievement. As a teacher, you are responsible for informing students and guardians about the student's academic development. About You You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, structure, and context for all students. You are well versed in the school's governing documents. You differentiate and vary instruction based on student needs. You share your knowledge and experience to contribute to collegial learning. An important part of the teacher role is building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
