Job Responsibilities
We are looking for you, a teacher for grades 7-9 with certification in Mathematics, Science subjects, and Technology.
At Munkhätteskolan, you will work in a team where together you meet the students' needs and share responsibility for instruction. You will be responsible for mathematics and technology instruction across multiple grade levels and also teach science. Part of the position is directed toward supporting students in the classroom to optimize their knowledge development. You are part of a grade-level team and serve as a mentor to students in one of the classes, together with a colleague. As a teacher at Munkhätteskolan, we expect you to:
Build strong relationships through curiosity and trust with students and colleagues, have high expectations and confidence in students' abilities, and demonstrate an encouraging and supportive approach.
Develop your instruction through active learning together with colleagues, where you share your experiences and through a pedagogically challenging approach support and develop everyone's instruction.
Offer diverse instruction with varied teaching methods, challenges, and adaptations based on each student's circumstances and with good connections to students' experiences and curiosity, and show clear links between your teaching strategies and your students' results.
Work with student input in your instruction in a way that allows students to develop and own their learning process, and provide feedback to students that moves them forward in their learning. All instruction should aim at each individual student's progress and results.
Create a safe and supportive classroom climate through clear structure.
Work to develop instruction based on scientific foundation and proven experience.
Qualifications
You are a certified teacher with credentials to teach grades 7-9 in Mathematics, Technology, and Science subjects. If you have previous experience working as a teacher or credentials in other subjects, we consider that a merit. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speaking and writing.
You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. You have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create a productive study environment and good learning environment for our students throughout their school day. Based on evidence-based research, you can develop your work and, with good familiarity and experience, work effectively with relevant digital tools.
As a person, you have strong pedagogical skills and understanding of people's different conditions for acquiring knowledge. You have the ability to see the whole picture, view questions from a broader perspective, and see opportunities in change. You also have strong collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and flexible manner.
About the Workplace
Munkhätteskolan is a grades F-9 primary school and grades 1-6 specialized primary school with a total of 720 students. 150 fantastic colleagues work with us and make Munkhätteskolan every student's best school. The school has a well-staffed student support team consisting of 2 counselors, 3 special educators, 2 school nurses, and a career advisor. Our work focuses on prevention and health promotion as well as clear routines and processes for intervention. Student support work with us begins in the classroom. We have a well-functioning structure and work based on organization/group and individual levels. SHM, student support meetings, are an important forum where grade-level teams, school leadership, and the student support team meet to highlight challenges and plan interventions through collaboration between different competencies and professions. We strive to be a learning organization where everyone takes responsibility for their mission, where we support and challenge each other, and achieve our goals together.
