At Grimstaskolan, every student should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential and the school should be the best school for every student who attends. Therefore, we are looking for a school psychologist who has a strong commitment to making a difference. Grimstaskolan is a grades F-9 school with approximately 550 students and 110 staff members. The school is located near the nature reserve in Grimstaskogen, a few minutes' walk from Vällingby Centre with subway and several bus connections.
The school has a CSU program with grades 1-9, a preparatory class and SU groups. We have a committed and well-functioning student health service with all professions working both broadly with different grade levels and targeted towards individual students.
The school management consists of a principal, four assistant principals and an administrative manager. The school management drives the school's systematic quality work together with student health services, the school's senior teacher and subject leaders.
In August 2026, the school will move back into our newly renovated premises, after being located in St. Jacobi premises in Vällingby for 2.5 years.
Job Description
In your role as a school psychologist, you will be an important part of the school's student health team together with school management and other professionals within student health services. The student health team's main task is to work in a health-promoting and preventive manner to create a school environment that promotes student learning, development and health.
As a school psychologist, you are responsible for conducting psychological assessments, diagnostics and evaluations. You provide advice and suggestions for interventions, follow up and evaluate, and make referrals for further treatment when needed.
In addition to direct student contact, you may also be tasked with mentoring and providing consultation to school staff on matters where psychological expertise is necessary. You assist with your expertise in conflict resolution and the school's crisis and disaster management, and provide guidance and support to school management on matters concerning organization, groups, resources and handling of individual student cases.
As a school psychologist within the City of Stockholm, you are part of a network of the city's school psychologists and have the opportunity for external supervision.
Your Competence and Experience
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and have knowledge and experience of working with children.
You have good knowledge of students with neurodevelopmental conditions, adjustments and special support, with which you can contribute the psychological perspective in the school's student health work.
You have good collaboration both internally and externally and always have the students' best interests in focus. To succeed in the role of school psychologist, you need to have very good analytical skills, take your own initiative and apply an evidence-based and systematic working approach. You can work independently as well as together with colleagues, students and guardians. You are relationship-building and trustworthy. You contribute with structure, problem analysis and a holistic approach in the salutogenic student health work. You have good insight into group processes and can manage crises and conflicts. You have good experience in keeping records and documenting. To succeed, you are confident in yourself, your profession and have the ability to both assert yourself – and set boundaries.
