Workplace Description We are now recruiting Border Control Officers for the Border Police Unit in the Stockholm region, stationed at the Border Control Sections at Arlanda Airport. The Border Police Unit is a regional unit within the Stockholm region that works with border controls, internal alien checks, enforcement of decisions on rejection and deportation, surveillance and investigation regarding human smuggling, violations of the Aliens Act, and transnational serious organized crime within Stockholm County and Gotland. The Border Police Unit holds regional responsibility for international contacts regarding, among other things, border police matters, intelligence, and wanted persons notices. At the Border Police, you are Sweden's face to the world: * You are the first person travelers meet upon arrival in Sweden. * You work to protect the borders of Sweden and the Schengen states. * You work to prevent human trafficking, smuggling, and illegal labor in cooperation with other authorities. Job Description Police work at the airport is conducted at two border control sections as well as a local police area. Border control operations are conducted within the sections. As a border control officer, you work intelligence-based, and your work includes profiling of travelers and checking travel documents for those entering and leaving the Schengen area. You will also participate in other operations within the scope of the Border Police Unit's work. Alien checks, order, and security are handled by police at the local police area, but in close cooperation with border control operations. Qualifications This is an opportunity for you if you have: Swedish secondary education diploma with passing grades in Swedish, English, mathematics, and social studies (alternatively equivalent foreign secondary education diploma where grades have been translated and validated by UHR). At least 1 year of documented full-time work experience during the past five-year period (military service counts as work experience). Very good language skills, both spoken and written, in Swedish and English (will be tested). Ability to move without restriction, as daily work can be physically demanding. B-class driver's license. Swimming proficiency, 200 meters breaststroke (this must be verified through a certificate at the end of the process). Normal color vision (this must be verified through a certificate at the end of the process). Swedish citizenship. Applicants will take tests in Swedish, English, and geographical knowledge related to the Border Police Unit's operations. Drug testing may be conducted during the process. It is meritorious if you also have: Experience with border control work within the EU/Schengen area and have completed border control training at an external border. Post-secondary education in, for example, criminology, political science, law, or equivalent that the employer deems relevant. Good geographical knowledge (will be tested).
