We are now seeking personal assistants for customers living in Gävle and the surrounding area. Do you want a job that really matters? We are now recruiting personal assistants for several different customers, both children and adults, with varying needs and disabilities. What does the job involve? As a personal assistant, you work where the customer is. This could be in their home, at work, school, during leisure activities, while traveling, or in other places where life happens. You help with what the customer needs support with to live as independently as possible. The tasks vary depending on who you work for, but may include: Personal hygiene Getting dressed and undressed Movement and assistive devices Cooking, cleaning, and other household tasks Accompanying customers to activities and social events Support with all of life's big and small moments Some customers also have medical needs where assistive devices and care such as tracheostomy, catheter, tube feeding, or other advanced care may be required. You will receive the introduction and training necessary for the role. Who are we looking for? We are not looking for specific qualifications or a perfect resume. We are looking for people. People who are confident, respectful, and attentive. Who understand that personal assistance is about being there when needed – but also about knowing when to step back. You need to be social, engaged, and present while respecting the customer's privacy and self-determination. You should feel comfortable working in someone else's home and understand that the customer and their family set the boundaries for their own lives. The employment is primarily on an as-needed basis, but for certain assistant positions it may be for a set period as long as the assistance contract lasts, and compensation is hourly wage. Working hours vary based on the customer's needs: day, evening, night (active and on-call), weekdays and weekends. Salary and other employment terms according to the collective agreement for Personal Assistance, Healthcare Employers - The Municipal Workers' Union.
