We are now seeking several experienced freight car repairers for one of our clients. The need currently extends through the end of the year.
About the Position
As a freight car repairer, you will work with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of railway wagons. Your tasks will vary from simple corrective maintenance to extensive overhauls where large parts of the wagon are disassembled, refurbished, and reassembled.
Examples of work tasks:
Repair and maintenance of freight cars
Replacement of brake blocks, doors, and other components
Troubleshooting and mechanical work
Operation of forklifts, loaders, and ground traverses
Movement of wagons in the workshop environment
Work with tank wagons, including work in confined spaces
Work takes place both in the workshop and in the field depending on operational needs.
Who Are You?
We are seeking someone with previous experience working as a freight car repairer or equivalent experience from heavy mechanical industry, vehicle maintenance, or the railway sector.
To succeed in this role, we would like to see that you have:
Experience with repair and maintenance of freight cars
Strong knowledge of mechanics
Forklift certification
Experience with traverse driving
Experience working with heavy vehicles or machinery
Ability to read and follow technical instructions
Meritorious:
Hot work certification
Safe lifting certification
Welding experience
Experience from the railway sector
Experience working in confined spaces

Work Environment
Each workday begins with a common briefing focused on safety, any near-misses, production, and improvement initiatives. Safety is a central part of the operations and all employees are expected to contribute to a safe and efficient workplace.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 07:00-15:30
