Job Responsibilities
Do you enjoy mapping and GIS and have an eye for quality and structure? We are now seeking a GIS Engineer who wants to help ensure current and reliable maps and facility registers for Gothenburg's administration and urban development.
The city is growing rapidly, and the increasing amount of data and higher level of detail place greater demands on quality and maintenance. As a GIS Engineer, you will have an important role in ensuring that the City Environment Administration's geographic information regarding infrastructure is current and usable.
As a GIS Engineer, you will, among other things:
map and maintain geographic data and facility registers
inventory and collect data to ensure current information
administer GIS data in the database
work with analysis and data management in FME
contribute to development work and quality assurance of methods and data
provide support on GIS matters to the department's various operations
You will also be part of a team of five colleagues who work together on facility registers and GIS issues.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone who has:
higher education in GIS
3-4 years of experience in GIS-related work, including at least two years of experience in mapping and/or maintenance
documented work experience with FME and some experience administering GIS databases
are detail-oriented and enjoy working with mapping and data maintenance
are fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written
Merits:
experience working with mapping/maintenance of municipal technical facilities
experience working with the following tools: MyCarta, ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCad, HAJK
