Job Description & Offer
Lead Swedish tennis into the next chapter
Swedish tennis has a unique history. A history filled with international success, strong role models, and engaged clubs throughout the country.
Now we are looking for a General Secretary who wants to help write the next chapter.
Swedish tennis is entering an important development phase. With high ambitions for the future, we are now seeking a leader who can unite the organization, create momentum for change, and contribute to continued development – from grassroots to world elite.
This is a mission that requires both strategic vision and operational drive. But above all, it requires a leader who can build trust, establish relationships, and inspire people to move in the same direction.
As General Secretary, you are the Swedish Tennis Association's highest-ranking official and hold overall responsibility for operational activities. Together with the board, you lead the association's continued development and translate strategic decisions into concrete results.
You lead a dedicated office and are responsible for operations, finances, and organization. At the same time, you are the Swedish Tennis Association's primary representative and build long-term relationships with clubs, regions, partners, the Swedish Sports Confederation, the Swedish Olympic Committee, international tennis organizations, and media.
You are the Swedish Tennis Association's foremost representative for Swedish tennis and an important voice in issues that affect Swedish tennis nationally and internationally.
This is a role for someone who enjoys creating direction in complex organizations where many perspectives must be brought together. You will join an association with strong expertise, engaged employees, and a clear commitment to further development. Here you have great opportunities to put your mark on the organization's continued journey.
What will be your most important mission?
Over the coming years, your focus will particularly be on:
• strengthening collaboration between the Swedish Tennis Association, the regions, and our approximately 350 member clubs
• developing the organization through modern, clear, and present leadership
• creating alignment and trust between the association's various stakeholders
• ensuring that our strategic initiatives lead to measurable results
• strengthening Swedish tennis' position nationally and internationally
• further developing relationships with partners, media, and other collaborators
• creating the best possible conditions for grassroots, junior, and elite activities.
Personal Profile
We are looking for a leader who enjoys developing people as much as operations.
You are confident in making decisions even when issues are complex and different interests need to be reconciled. You communicate clearly, build trust, and have the ability to unite people around a shared vision.
You are unpretentious, receptive, and relationship-building, but also brave enough to challenge established practices when needed. You thrive in a role where you represent the organization externally and feel equally comfortable at an annual meeting with member clubs as in meetings with partners, media, or international organizations.
We believe you have:
• several years of experience leading a large or complex organization
• documented experience in change management and organizational development
• experience with budget, operations, and personnel responsibility
• experience working closely with a board or other decision-making leadership
• excellent communication skills in Swedish and English.
It is a merit if you have experience from the sports movement, member-led organizations, or tennis, but most important is your ability to lead people, create engagement, and develop operations.
Why the Swedish Tennis Association
With us you will:
• lead one of Sweden's most well-known sports associations
• work together with engaged employees, volunteers, and elite athletes
• influence Swedish sports at the national and international level
• have a great opportunity to put your mark on the organization's continued development
• take on a mission where social benefit, sports joy, and leadership meet
