Would you like to be part of developing Skellefteå's streets and public spaces? As a street engineer, you work from early ideas to finished solutions. You create drawings and technical documentation, influence design, and collaborate with multiple disciplines within civil engineering.
YOUR ROLE
As a street engineer, you work on design and technical development of the municipality's streets, pedestrian and cycling paths, and other facilities on public land. The projects vary greatly in both size and complexity—from minor renovations in residential areas to larger street projects and expansion of pedestrian and cycling paths.
You work on projects from early ideas and design through implementation. You are responsible for creating drawings, technical documentation, and decision-making materials, and you work both on your own assignments and as part of larger projects. With a focus on streets and public spaces, you contribute to the overall civil engineering process.
The role may also include leading and coordinating design projects. You collaborate with, among others, project managers, water and sewage engineers, landscape architects, development engineers, consultants, contractors, and utility providers, and you participate in construction and coordination meetings.
YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education in, for example, civil engineering, road and water, construction and infrastructure, or design. You may also have acquired equivalent competence through work experience in the field.
For this position, you need knowledge of CAD-based design and be able to work in Civil 3D, Novapoint, or equivalent design tools. You also need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
It is an advantage if you have experience with street, road, or infrastructure design and with leading or coordinating design projects. We also view positively experience from municipal or other public sector work, as well as knowledge of GIS, BIM, or model-based design, AMA Anläggning, AB 04/ABT 06, climate adaptation, stormwater management, or sustainable mobility. A Class B driver's license is also an advantage.
As a person, you work in a structured manner and take responsibility for moving your tasks forward. You enjoy collaborating, as different competencies and perspectives often need to be weighed together to find a good solution. In your interactions with others, you communicate clearly in a way that creates understanding and trust. You are also solution-oriented and can analyze technical issues, see different possibilities, and adapt solutions based on the project's conditions.
YOUR NEW WORKPLACE
You will become part of the Projects and Planning unit within the Streets and Parks division. Here, street engineers, project managers, and estimation engineers work together to plan and implement projects that develop Skellefteå's streets, parks, and public spaces.
Work is based on long-term annual planning that provides continuity and forward planning. The workplace is centrally located in Skellefteå and is activity-based.
