About the Operation: Technical and Property Management is responsible for developing Vallentuna into a good place for people and businesses to grow. We do this through management, preventive work, and development of the municipality's buildings, nature areas, parks, streets, roads, and other facilities. The department is organized into four divisions: the Management Office, the Property Division with cleaning services, the Street and Park Division, and Transport Services. We in the Street and Park Division are a well-coordinated and cheerful team of 17 people working with waste management, street and park operations, traffic operations, traffic planning, project management, parking supervision, scrap vehicles, fleet management, planning, construction, noise, nature, stormwater management, and more. The division is now seeking a street engineer, and we value your personal development, so we ensure you have the opportunity to grow and broaden your competence. Job Responsibilities: You will primarily work with the municipality's operational contracts for street/winter road maintenance, lighting, pavement, road markings, and associated stormwater management. Noise, excavation permits, and insurance matters also fall within the department's operations. Participation in master planning and detailed planning work, utility coordination, and project management of smaller projects within the department are included, though all types of questions and tasks may arise. The role includes financial responsibility involving planning, budgeting, and cost tracking. As a street engineer, you will play an important role in several large concurrent infrastructure projects. You will contribute your experience from the early planning stages through implementation and construction phases. Your responsibilities include reviewing documents, monitoring street work, following up on inspections and warranty commitments, developing cost estimates, and ensuring smooth handover to operations. You will work independently, developing and improving functions, routines, and documentation in close contact with colleagues in Technical and Property Management and Infrastructure Development. The work also involves extensive contact with various project managers, contractors, and residents. Qualifications: Higher education in road engineering, construction, or other education that the employer considers relevant, or equivalent work experience as a skilled worker in operations and maintenance. Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Class B driver's license. Meritorious: Several years of experience with similar tasks in operations and maintenance. Several years of experience as a client representative or running operational contracts. Good knowledge of Word and Excel, experience working in a digitalized environment, good GIS skills. Experience with procurement and contract management. Experience analyzing, monitoring, and documenting such as fault reports, contracts, budgets, etc. Knowledge of contract law such as AB, MER, AMA.
