The Technical Division operates its activities in-house and consists of five operational areas: Streets, Parks and Harbor, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Meal Services, and Municipal Properties. These are supported by a project department, finance department, and an administrative staff. The division employs approximately 400 permanent employees and has an annual turnover of just over 1 billion kronor. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environment and Urban Development Committee, and the Culture and Recreation Committee.
Streets, Parks and Harbor is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of streets, parks, and Nyköping Harbor on behalf of the Environment and Urban Development Committee, as well as certain recreational facilities on behalf of the Culture and Recreation Committee. The operation ensures that Nyköping has a functional and safe street and road system that meets traffic users' needs for accessibility, traffic safety, and security. Well-maintained streets, beautiful park environments, safe playgrounds, and a vibrant harbor shall make Nyköping an attractive place for both residents and visitors.
The Planning and Investigation Unit is now seeking a Street Engineer to complement the other street engineers in the unit's work. You will be part of a pleasant team consisting of 18 people with various professions. The unit's work takes place in close cooperation with colleagues in the operational units for streets, parks, and harbor, as well as other activities and administrations within Nyköping Municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Street Engineer, you will lead and follow up on projects that develop Nyköping's public environments. You will lead and oversee projects from idea to implementation and be responsible for investigations, design, as well as technical and financial monitoring, where you have significant personal responsibility to oversee and make decisions on matters related to the operation.
You will actively contribute to ongoing development work within the Streets area and serve as an expert in cooperation with other administrations and operations. The position also includes handling of traffic area plans, participation in detailed planning work, review of detailed plans, permit handling, and responding to comments and questions from the public related to the unit's projects and assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS
You who are applying have:
- Education in construction and civil works or experience that the employer deems equivalent.
- Interest in issues related to urban development and infrastructure.
- Good ability to communicate fluently in Swedish both orally and in writing.
- Basic knowledge to communicate in English orally and in writing.
- Good knowledge of the Office package.
- B-category driver's license.
Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience with construction projects from design to implementation.
- Good knowledge of contract law and economics.
- Experience managing projects within the construction and civil works field.
- Data skills in GIS environments and QGIS.
- Knowledge of Topocad and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of the Public Procurement Act.
