Chief Inspector of the National Coordination Center of the Operational Management Administration
Requirements for position candidates:
- Compliance with the requirements specified in Articles 4 and 7 of the Service Career Law for officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system institutions and Penitentiary Administration with special service ranks;
- Required higher education (bachelor's degree) or second-level professional higher education in the thematic field of civil and military defense, legal science, social and human sciences, business and administration, engineering and technology, computer science, humanities, information and communication sciences, or teacher education and educational science;
- Required minimum 7 years of service experience in the State Border Guard;
- English language knowledge at least at B1 level and good knowledge of Russian language (for consultation purposes);
- Ability to use computer programs (MS Office products, email and internet browsers);
- Prior to taking office, it is necessary to obtain a Category 2 (secret) special permit for access to state secret facilities, a certificate for access to European Union classified information CONFIDENTIEL UE/EU CONFIDENTIAL, and a certificate for access to NATO classified information NATO SECRET.
Main job duties:
- Organize and control the fulfillment of duties of on-duty officials of the National Coordination Center (hereinafter – NKC) of the Operational Management Administration of the State Border Guard during duty shifts;
- Ensure preparation and submission of daily event information summaries;
- Analyze the situation on the state's external border and within the state;
- Coordinate activities related to operational cooperation between State Border Guard structural units and cooperating institutions in crisis situations;
- Carry out information exchange and coordination with State Border Guard structural units or responsible officials/employees;
- Perform verification, processing, and forwarding of requested information to competent authorities of member states and other countries;
- Ensure verification and processing of information received on the State Border Guard's trust hotline, and its further submission for review and decision-making;
- Ensure data entry in the European Border Surveillance System for creating and maintaining the state's situational picture;
- Organize preparation and submission of service reports and extracts from daily event information summaries;
- Perform information processing using available databases and information systems;
- Carry out personnel notification in the prescribed manner upon receipt of alarm signals;
- Ensure translation and forwarding of flight plan copies received from Latvia's air traffic for analysis and necessary control;
- Provide consultation to legal and natural persons on matters within the State Border Guard's competence;
- Safeguard weapons, ammunition, and special equipment stored in the NKC weapons room, as well as other NKC equipment and inventory;
- Carry out storage, receipt, and issuance of weapons, ammunition, and special equipment;
- Perform tasks at the central access point for access to the Entry/Exit System and ETIAS data for law enforcement purposes.
