The Information Department of the Latvian State Archive (LSA) under Latvijas Nacionālais arhīvs ensures client consultation, processes information requests and document management, provides public access to stored documents and reference systems, and serves reading room visitors.
We value the following qualifications:
- Higher education (preferably in information management, library science, history, law, sociology, public administration, management, philology, or digital humanities and arts sciences);
- Understanding of archive operations, functions, regulatory requirements, composition and accessibility of national documentary heritage;
- Knowledge and practical experience in archive work or information request preparation of more than 1 year will be considered an advantage;
- Well-developed competencies: precision, independence in work, flexible thinking, communication skills;
- State language proficiency (C1 level);
- Foreign language skills: Russian – for reading and formatting documents, including manuscripts (English language knowledge as a second foreign language will be considered an advantage);
- Computer skills in MS Office 365 environment at an experienced user level.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring archive service accessibility in reading rooms and providing methodological and practical assistance on document use matters;
- Preparing socio-legal inquiries and archive information requests;
- Preparing digital copies, photocopies, and extracts of documents and accompanying documentation;
- Translating information requests and accompanying documents into foreign languages;
- Using the Unified State Archive Information System (VVAIS), LSA databases, electronic registers, and other reference system elements;
- Participating in the promotion of documents and archive activities by searching for and preparing information for publication on the Latvijas Nacionālais arhīvs website and social media.
You will receive:
- Interesting, stable, and responsible work in a state institution (workplace at Bezdelīgu iela 1a or Skandu iela 14, Riga);
- Support and cooperation with a responsive and competent team of colleagues;
- Monthly salary from 1120 eiro to 1240 eiro before taxes, depending on professional experience, and social guarantees in accordance with state administration regulations;
- Health insurance policy after 3 months of employment.
