The physical therapists are part of the rehabilitation team based at Mariestad Hospital and we are organized under the elderly care and social services department. Here we put people's need for support at the center. We work from a perspective where we at all levels focus on the resources and abilities that exist in each person. Good treatment and a professional approach to the people we meet are strong guiding principles for quality in health care work in Mariestad Municipality. Because a colleague is moving on to another assignment within the rehabilitation team, we need to recruit a physical therapist to replace them on our great team. DUTIES The unit consists of eight physical therapists, eight occupational therapists, and two rehabilitation assistants. Your responsibilities include training and rehabilitation for elderly and people with disabilities. The work is conducted mainly in the patient's home and at care facilities, but also within social psychiatry and within LSS. In your role, you also guide care staff in their implementation of prescribed training for patients. You are also responsible for assistive device prescriptions. As a physical therapist, you usually work in pairs with an occupational therapist and together you are responsible for a geographic area. A large part of the work is carried out through collaboration with rehabilitation assistants, team leaders, care staff, nurses, assessment officers, and unit managers. What can we offer you? QUALIFICATIONS For this position, you need to be a licensed physical therapist and we also welcome recently graduated candidates - we have a good culture with excellent mentorship for newly graduated physical therapists! To be suitable for the position, we see that you are responsive, engaged, and have good ability to plan and make your own decisions. We envision that you want to develop in your professional role in work where you come into contact with patients with many varying diagnoses. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and other people both internally in the municipality but also externally. Previous experience working as a physical therapist in healthcare or elderly care is a merit. A category B driver's license with manual transmission is required for this position.
