Job Description As a probation inspector with a program focus, you will be part of the program team at Probation Services Örebro/Karlstad. Your workplace is at the probation office in Karlstad located on Karolinen. Since the offices collaborate extensively with each other, you need to be flexible as service travel between our operational areas occurs. You will be part of a team that works with clients in probation and custody. As an important part of preventing recidivism, Karlstad Probation Services conducts extensive program activities for clients under supervision. Treatment programs are delivered with high quality and according to evidence-based practice principles. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory. We use programs addressing crime, violence, substance abuse, sexual violence, and relationship violence. The mission is carried out by a highly committed program team with specialized program leadership expertise, and it is to this group we are now seeking new staff members. The diverse program portfolio means you will simultaneously lead several different programs. As a Probation Inspector with a program focus, your duties include leading programs as well as administrative tasks. You are expected to complete the program leader training courses that are part of the role. Examples of such training include Predov, Concent, RVP, SEIF, Entré, and OTO/Prism. It is important to actively work for good collaboration both with other program leaders and with staff at prisons and within probation services. Before delivering treatment programs, you will receive internal training and go through certification processes to be able to lead the relevant treatment programs. Qualifications As a probation inspector, you must be able to conduct influence and change work in relation to the regulations governing the service. In your professional practice, you therefore need good judgment and integrity. As a probation inspector, you take your own initiative and deliver good results. You have good collaboration skills and can handle periodically high workloads. You communicate clearly and have a good understanding of people's different capacities to acquire knowledge, and you adapt your way of conveying messages to your audience. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect you and others. We are looking for someone with: An academic degree (at least bachelor's level), preferably in behavioral science, social work, or social science, or another academic degree combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Current and well-documented professional experience in corrections, social care, psychiatry, or health and care work Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Class B driver's license It is also advantageous to have: Current experience with client-facing treatment work Other treatment-focused education that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Experience working with CBT-based interventions Client-facing corrections experience Experience working with case management Relevant language skills beyond Swedish and English Terms Working hours: Daytime Monday-Friday (two evenings per month until 18:30).
