Do you want to be part of creating the future meeting place for young people in Vänersborg? The Culture and Leisure Department of Vänersborg Municipality is now seeking two engaged and creative leisure leaders for our open meeting places for youth, where young people's ideas, creativity, and influence are at the center. The youth activities within the Culture and Leisure Department are in an exciting phase of development. We are building the future meeting place for young people, an activity that creates community through diverse interests, experiences, and forms of expression. Our work is based on research about youth participation and influence, and together with young people, we develop activities based on their needs, interests, and future dreams. Now we are seeking two leisure leaders who want to inspire, create meaningful activities, and contribute to an active and inclusive leisure environment for young people in Vänersborg. About the Position Activities at youth open meeting places are built on voluntary participation and strong youth influence. Today, the activities consist of two youth centers and one youth culture program. Our business concept is to stimulate and support activities that are based on and require youth engagement and responsibility. You plan, implement, and develop activities together with young people and are an important adult in their everyday life. You become part of an engaged team of leisure leaders and culture coordinators who together drive and develop the municipality's open meeting places for youth. Your main workplace will be our temporary youth center Silvertärnan. Part of the activities also takes place at other locations in the municipality based on young people's needs and interests. The activities are LGBTQI-certified and are characterized by inclusion, accessibility, and respect for everyone's equal worth. Work Tasks Youth open meeting places conduct activities on weekdays and weekends, both during daytime and evening hours. Our goal is for all young people to feel welcome, seen, and safe, and to be given the opportunity to develop their interests and ideas based on their own circumstances. By inspiring, challenging, and motivating young people, you strengthen their positive development. You develop forms for participation, influence, and make non-formal and informal learning visible. Your work tasks include, among other things: Planning, implementing, and following up activities together with young people. Working with a supportive and inclusive approach. Contributing to the development of activity quality. Collaborating with schools, social services, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. Working day, evening, and weekend shifts as well as, if needed, in different activity facilities and outdoor environments. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Education as a leisure leader, leisure pedagogue, social pedagogue, cultural pedagogue, or other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent. Other education should be combined with experience working with the target group. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. It is a merit if you have: Experience working with young people and youth activities. Experience leading participation processes and organizing leisure activities together with young people. Experience with KEKS network working methods and training. Knowledge of the Charter for Open Leisure and Youth Work (European principles and guidelines for local open leisure and youth activities). Knowledge in norm criticism, gender equality, and participation work. Multilingual skills. Interest in and knowledge of digital tools, technology, and social media. Who Are You?
