Upplands Väsby Municipality is now recruiting two youth recreation leaders at 70 percent for Väsbygården and one youth recreation leader at 100 percent for Smedbygården, within Youth Recreation. We create safe, open, and inclusive meeting places where young people have the opportunity to grow, develop, and shape their own leisure time. Through recreation centers, outreach projects, and targeted initiatives, we offer activities that strengthen young people's self-confidence, participation, and ability to influence their everyday lives and futures. Our goal is for all young people to have access to meaningful leisure time and leave our programs strengthened. We actively work to reach more young people and create relevant contexts where they feel welcome and included. Together with civil society, schools, and other municipal activities, we develop activities and meeting places that contribute to young people's quality of life and participation in society. About the position As a youth recreation leader, you are a present adult in young people's everyday lives. You build relationships, create safety, and develop the operations together with the young people who participate. The role includes: Creating an open, safe, and inclusive meeting place Planning and implementing activities together with young people Supporting young people in taking initiative and developing their own ideas Working to reach more young people and broaden participation Collaborating with schools, associations, and other actors Participating in planning, follow-up, and development of the operations Working hours are primarily scheduled for afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Are you the one we're looking for? We're looking for someone who has: Youth recreation leader education or other post-secondary education deemed equivalent Documented experience working with children and young people Experience with preventive and health-promoting work It is a merit if you have: Experience with outreach work or work in different living environments Competence in creative activities or processes with young people Driver's license (Category B) As a person, you are confident, relationship-building, and responsive in your interactions with young people. You take initiative, are flexible, and have the ability to collaborate with both colleagues and external actors. You see possibilities in everyday situations and actively contribute to developing the operations together with others.
