In this role, you will combine work with culture for children and young people and do so partly within the school context. You will also work with presence in young people's everyday lives and contribute to creating safe, drug-free and inspiring environments where young people can grow and have a voice. As an employee, you are based at the Culture and Recreation Unit, where 17 permanent employees work together with several project and hourly staff. We are part of the Municipal Management Administration, which serves three boards; the Municipal Executive Board, the Building and Environment Board, and the Community Development Board. The administration employs approximately 135 employees in total and is divided into the areas of administration, building and environment, and community development and growth, where the Culture and Recreation department is located. A day as a Recreational Leader with Responsibility for Children's Culture and Creative School Having this recreational leader position means no two days are the same, and if you enjoy that, this work will be truly interesting and exciting. You will be responsible for administration and coordination of the municipality's work with Creative School, as well as planning and coordinating children's cultural performances for the municipality's schools and preschools. The assignment includes collaboration with cultural practitioners, schools and preschools with the goal of giving children and young people the opportunity to encounter professional culture. In Krokom Municipality, we have youth centers at four locations: Föllinge, Änge, Ås and Krokom, so this role also offers great opportunities to develop our youth club and youth center activities. A couple of evenings per week, the youth club opens for elementary school students, where you create activities with the children, build relationships and capture ideas and needs. At the youth center, you meet high school and gymnasium students in a safe, drug-free and inclusive environment where community, participation and personal development are in focus. Based on the young people's interests, you shape the activities together and get to contribute to creating meaningful leisure time. Certain evenings and weekends, you also participate in the municipality's outreach work. Then you meet young people where they are, for example at events, meeting places and out in the community. This is important work focused on building relationships, creating safety and a preventive perspective, where presence and good adult contact make a difference. In other words, in this role you combine the best of two worlds; you get to work administratively to give our young people access to culture and creativity, while meeting young people directly in their everyday lives each week. It is work where you get the opportunity to make a real difference, both here and now and for the future. Your competence We are looking for someone who wants to combine administrative work with a mandate to work with and near children and young people where they are. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to make contact with people, regardless of age. We are looking for someone who can take initiative and feels strong responsibility for developing the activities. Requirements for the position are that you: are trained as a recreational leader, or have another education and/or experience that the employer considers equivalent or relevant have the ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing have good computer skills have a driver's license for a personal vehicle Meritorious for the position is to have experience from having worked with similar tasks. Other information The position is a temporary contract of 80-100% (full-time = 40 hours/week) extending until August 2027 with start date by agreement. Work takes place both during day and evening hours. Weekend and night work may occur. Our youth centers are open 2-3 evenings per week between 18.00-21.00.
