Are you an engaged recreational leader who wants to make a difference for children and young people? We're looking for someone who is a secure, calm, and positive person who is both a thoughtful adult and actively participates in children's both lively and calm play and activities. We appreciate if you are creative and enjoy crafting. Perhaps you like to crochet, bake, and maybe paint or come up with other fun creative activities with the children. The role also includes simple kitchen tasks, so we're looking for someone with experience preparing simple lunches and snacks for larger groups. Good knowledge of kitchen and food science is a plus. The ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish is a requirement. If you can also speak French, that's great, since a third of our children attend French school. Administration is part of the job for all of us as we plan and evaluate activities individually and in groups. The job with us is varied and challenging in a positive way. About Us We're located in the middle of a lush play park on Stora Essingen with climbing structures, park environment, and a splash pool. You can easily get there by both bus and tram. Vängåvan runs several activities: a recreational center, youth club, and park play with everything from toddler activities to senior meetings. Vängåvan Vänner is a member cooperative and a non-profit association, and Vängåvan's activities are run by us, the staff. We run recreational activities for students in grades 4–6 and currently have about 200 enrolled children. In addition to the recreational center, we run a youth club one to two evenings per week, evening hours once a week, and keep the park play open all weekdays. We collaborate closely with schools, associations, and businesses in the area to create a safe, fun, and developmental leisure time for children and young people. Work Tasks We're looking for someone who is secure, positive, and energetic and who is passionate about children's and young people's development. As a recreational leader, you will, among other things: Plan and conduct activities, games, and projects for children and young people. Lead sports, creative, and group activities. Work based on Vängåvan's values to create a safe and inclusive activity. Participate in planning, documentation, monitoring, and evaluation. Build good relationships with children, young people, guardians, colleagues, and partners. Contribute to developing the activity together with the work team. We're looking for someone who enjoys being active with children and who likes to participate in everything from ball games and play to crafts, creative activities, and board games. We're looking for someone who Has documented experience working with children and young people. Is a secure and clear leader. Has a pedagogical approach and works with low affect. Is responsible, flexible, and solution-oriented. Enjoys leading both small and large groups. Has strong ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Can handle simple cooking, kitchen routines, and hygiene routines. Particularly Meriting Knowledge of French. Handicraft, sewing, or other creative work. Experience with kitchen work. Interest in sports, play, and movement. Experience in pedagogical or social work. Experience with camp activities. Ongoing or completed pedagogical education. Additional language skills beyond Swedish. About the Position The position comprises 60% with good opportunity for more hours. Work is scheduled five days per week and consists mainly of afternoon shifts plus 0–2 morning shifts per week. Working hours vary between 09.00 and 20.00. There is opportunity for extended employment through: Temporary work in our evening activities. Extra morning shifts. Work at open-on-weekends activities and facility rentals. Evening activities consist of a youth club 1–2 evenings per week plus evening-hours park play for students in grades 4–6. Start date is by agreement, earliest September 1.
