Stockholm – our capital with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we're looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm. The City Development Office plans for a future Stockholm on behalf of the City Development Committee. We work with city planning both strategically and at the detail level, building permits, city surveying, property formation, and housing adaptation. The City Development Office has approximately 340 employees and we are centrally located on Kungsholmen with approximately ten minutes' walk to Stockholm Central Station. The Authority's operations are characterized by the core values of professional, holistic approach, and inclusiveness. Welcome to us Do you want to document and convey to the world how Sweden's capital grows and changes as a photographer? The City Development Office is now seeking, in collaboration with the Traffic Office and the Exploitation Office, an experienced, creative, and technically skilled photographer to capture Stockholm's development projects and public spaces with interest and commitment. As a photographer in Stockholm, you have a unique opportunity to follow how Stockholm develops. Through photography and film, you document everything from major urban development projects to small details that shape the city's character and identity. Your visual work will be an important part of telling the story of the city's present and future – in our communication, marketing, and documentation. The position is located at the City Development Office, but you will also work with the Traffic Office and the Exploitation Office, which are in the same building, as well as with other parts of Stockholm. You are largely independent in your role but are part of the Geodata Distribution unit at the City Surveying Department; a unit consisting of 15 employees who work with 3D visualization and physical models, map and geodata products, and information management. Your work tasks include: Documentation and Visual Production: Capture the city's transformation through photography and film of buildings and environments in urban development projects, construction sites, public spaces, and landscapes – from the planned to the ongoing to the completed. This also includes portrait and group photography as well as coordination and management of agreements with external photographers. Collaboration Across the City: Work closely with project managers, city planners, and communicators in different parts of Stockholm to understand context and create visual content that makes an impact and makes a difference. Image and Film Management: Process, edit, and post-process material for high visual quality and adapt content for web, print, presentations, and social media. Structure, tag, and archive material so it's easy to search, use, and reuse. Travel within the city and to construction projects may occur. Your Competence and Experience For this position, we are looking for someone who meets the following requirements: Experience with photography and film in varying environments and good knowledge of professional camera equipment – including DSLR and mirrorless systems, lighting, and photography Strong skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere as well as image processing, editing, archiving, and metadata management. Current experience with still photography and film photography for digital channels, such as social media, web, and newsletters Experience with image editing, retouching, film editing, and post-production for various formats and channels (both digital and print) Experience working with image generation and AI tools Experience with drone photography/filming and aerial photography Experience creating both documentary and artistic visual expressions. Relevant education in photography, visual communication, or equivalent work experience. Documented experience with photography and project-based work in collaboration with various stakeholders and meeting deadlines. Drone certification and good knowledge of drone photography legislation. Basic knowledge of GDPR and relevant legislation, for example within accessibility. Other Requirements Fluent Swedish in speech and writing for communication with internal and external stakeholders. Class B driver's license It is meritorious if you have: Documented experience with urban documentation, architecture, and/or urban development. Knowledge of and interest in city planning and architecture. Ability to develop strong visual narratives that aesthetically and informatively reflect Stockholm's buildings and city life. Good English skills as the work may involve collaboration with international partners. In this recruitment, we place particular emphasis on the following competencies: You are a creative and skilled photographer who easily finds solutions based on the client's needs. The city's operations are complex, which requires you to quickly understand new contexts and deliver with high precision and quality. You work independently and take responsibility for moving your work forward, while being proactive and seeing opportunities to develop both assignments and working methods. You are organized and plan your work efficiently to handle multiple parallel projects and meet deadlines, sometimes under time pressure. You are also flexible, both in relation to changed conditions in the assignments and regarding working hours, as photography may need to be conducted at different times of day depending on operational needs. As a photographer, you have many internal and external contact points. In your interactions with others, you are attentive, demonstrate good collaboration skills, and provide constructive feedback. We look forward to your application! Other Information Selection will take place after the ad's last publication date.
