We are seeking detention officers for the detention facilities in Åstorp and Ljungbyhed
At a detention unit, people who have received a rejection or deportation decision and who need to be available for enforcement are placed. A person may also be detained if the right to reside in the country or their identity needs to be investigated. The detention facility is a closed unit and operations run 24/7. The work is based on applicable legislation where legal certainty, dignity, and safety are important.

What does a detention officer do?
The role includes work with care, supervision, searches, and security, among other things. You conduct conversations during, for example, admission and discharge, as well as to inform about decisions. You identify and handle any special needs of the detainees and organize activities for them. Furthermore, you ensure that there is a calm, safe, and secure environment at the facility through the implementation of security checks and searches. Participation in transports, responsibility for food handling, and some administrative tasks are also part of the job. The work can be somewhat physically demanding.

Who are you?
We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and has good collaborative skills, is attentive, and resolves conflicts constructively. You have good self-awareness and can distinguish between the personal and professional.
Since the operation is dynamic, you need to be calm and stable even under stress or pressured situations, maintain a realistic perspective, and focus on the right things. You enjoy variety and find it easy to adapt and change your perspective and approach when circumstances change.
In our work as civil servants, high demands are also placed on judgment and a high level of security and confidentiality awareness.
You have
High school education or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
Experience working with requirements for good service and professional conduct
Very good knowledge of Swedish spoken and written
Good knowledge of English
Category B driver's license
It is meritorious if you have
Experience working with people in vulnerable situations
Experience with social work, such as care work, mental health, substance abuse, or similar
Experience working in a locked environment, such as detention, criminal care, forensic psychiatry, or similar operations

Employment form: Permanent employment with 6-month trial period
Working hours: Scheduled work hours in two or three shifts
Location: Åstorp or Ljungbyhed, specify in your application which facility you prefer
