About the Position
The Identity and Authorization unit is responsible for managing and further developing IT support for identity management, authorization, authentication, and trusted services. We are facing several strategically important initiatives in the coming years where PKI plays a critical role, giving you the opportunity to work with modern solutions and develop both professionally and personally.
Region Stockholm's PKI service has received the Quality Mark for Swedish eID at trust level 3 for the mobile phone-based solution RS eID, and the PKI service is a mission-critical function widely used within the region's IT environment.
In this role, you are responsible for the overall management, development, and governance of the PKI service. You also serve as a technical anchor and mentor for the team's specialists and lead the daily work of a group of 3–4 people.
In your assignment as PKI Administration Manager / Senior PKI Specialist:
You have overall responsibility for Region Stockholm's PKI service from a management, operational, and technical perspective
You lead and coordinate work within the PKI area, including planning, prioritization, and follow-up of management and development initiatives
You work strategically with architecture, lifecycle management, and future decisions for the PKI solution
You ensure that the PKI environment is secure, robust, compliant with regulations, and sustainably designed for the long term
You serve as a technical leader and mentor for other PKI specialists and related roles
You collaborate closely with information security functions, other technical teams, and operations, and serve as expert support on PKI and cryptography-related issues
You are responsible for governance documentation, procedures, processes, and management plans
You contribute to security analyses, risk assessments, audits, and incident handling
You drive improvement and automation initiatives to streamline operations and management

You communicate complex technical issues clearly and pedagogically, adapted to your audience regardless of their level in the organization. You guide and support both technical specialists and decision-makers and help create direction and momentum. With your technical expertise and confident leadership, you drive development forward and contribute to sustainable long-term solutions. To succeed in the role, we see that you have:
Several years of experience working with PKI solutions and certificate infrastructure
Very good knowledge of: X.509 certificates, certificate chains, and trust models
Experience designing and managing PKI architecture in complex IT environments
Good understanding of information security and relevant regulations and standards
Ability to work in a structured and quality-conscious manner in operations and management environments
Experience leading, coordinating, or guiding others—formally or informally
Experience with Windows Server and/or Linux in security-critical environments
Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
It is a merit if you have:
Knowledge of trust frameworks, such as Swedish eID
Experience with or knowledge of KMS and Key Vault management
Practical experience with HSM (Hardware Security Modules)
Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python)
Experience with PKI in cloud and/or hybrid environments
Experience leading security reviews, audits, or risk analyses
Relevant certifications in PKI or security (e.g., PKI, CISSP, and/or Microsoft)
