IT/OT IT Operations Manager Do you want to be part of developing digital solutions for the future within critical societal operations? We are now recruiting three IT Operations Managers who want to take full responsibility for some of our most business-critical systems. With us, you will become a key person in the work of developing and managing systems that help ensure Uppsala's water and waste supply functions – every day. In this role, you will work closely with both the business and IT teams, ensuring that our systems are stable, secure, and evolving in line with business needs. You combine strategic work with operational responsibility and will have an important role in several upcoming digitalization initiatives and system implementations. Three positions with different focus areas We are looking for three people with different focus areas. Two of the positions will work mainly with business-critical systems linked to our core operations, such as technical information and laboratory systems. The third position will mainly be responsible for our administrative support systems, such as HR, finance, case management, and document management systems. Which systems you will be responsible for will be tailored based on business needs and your experience and areas of interest. Common to all positions is that several new systems will be procured and implemented in the coming years. You will therefore be an important part of the entire process – from requirements specification and procurement to implementation and long-term management. About the role As an IT Operations Manager, you will be part of our IT section with approximately 25 employees. You will become part of an engaged operations team with six colleagues where you collaborate closely, share experiences, and develop our shared way of working. We work according to PM3, and the role involves full responsibility for your management objects. You function as the link between the business, IT specialists, and external vendors, and are responsible for ensuring that the systems continue to create value over time. The role is varied and combines planning, coordination, and development with operational responsibility in day-to-day management work. Your responsibilities As an IT Operations Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that your systems are developed and managed in a long-term and structured way. You plan and follow up on activities, coordinate different stakeholders, and drive improvement work together with the business. In the role, you will, among other things: • lead and develop your management objects according to PM3 • coordinate work between the business, IT, and external vendors • be responsible for system management, licenses, and agreements • plan, prioritize, and follow up on management activities • identify and drive development and digitalization initiatives • specify requirements and participate in procuring new systems • lead or coordinate implementations of new system solutions • conduct meetings, workshops, and feasibility studies • provide support to the business and assist with troubleshooting when needed. You have a holistic perspective and enjoy collaborating with many different functions. At the same time, you have an analytical approach and like finding solutions that create long-term value. For success in this role, we believe you are communicative, relationship-building, and find it easy to switch between strategic questions and practical implementation. We are looking for someone who has • relevant university education in computer science or systems science, or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent • experience with system management or operations management in a larger or complex organization • experience leading or coordinating user groups, reference groups, or similar forums. It is a merit if you have experience with: • PM3 or another established management model • work in municipal operations or other larger organizations.
