Your role as an administrator/guardian involves helping individuals exercise their economic and legal rights, such as paying bills or applying for benefits. As an administrator, you make an important contribution for both the person you represent and society. Often this help is decisive for the individual, as it contributes to increased stability and security in their life situation.
Job Duties
As an administrator, you have a personal responsibility under the Parental Code and are accountable to the Supervisory Board for Guardians in the Umeå region. As an employed representative at the municipal management administration office, you handle the most complicated cases within the municipality. The assignments may involve legally complex matters, advanced financial management, and clients with challenging behavior, substance abuse issues, mental health problems, and cognitive or intellectual disabilities. This places high demands on you as an administrator.
Qualifications
You have a university degree in behavioral or social sciences, or other education or work experience that the employer considers relevant for the position. Experience in financial accounting and social work is advantageous.

You work independently while also collaborating well with others. Structure and quality are central to your work. You express yourself well in speech and writing.
A Class B driver's license is required.

To be appointed as a guardian or administrator, you must have a clean criminal record, no payment defaults, and not be under guardianship yourself. Before employment, we will request extracts from the Enforcement Authority and the Police Authority registers.

The Municipal Management Administration operates under the Municipal Council and is responsible for leading, coordinating, supporting, and following up municipal activities.
During the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + identification certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documents that verify citizenship. For some positions, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records register must be provided. We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sámi varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sámi administrative areas.
In our municipality, several positions are classified as security-sensitive, so security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
