We are a primary school with approximately 365 students from preschool class through grade 6. Preschool class, school, and after-school care work closely together to create a cohesive experience around students' school days. We are now seeking someone who wants to take on the role of lead teacher in grades F-3 and be part of developing a modern and forward-thinking operation where student learning is at the center. As a lead teacher, you have an important role in our joint development work and contribute to strengthening the quality of instruction, creating the best conditions for student learning, and increasing goal attainment. Together we work to develop instruction, create clear accountability, good governance, and present leadership that contributes to higher knowledge results. We also actively work toward increased equity across our schools, so that all students have access to high-quality instruction and the support they need based on their individual circumstances. Appointment of lead teachers beginning August 1, 2026 is made through a time-limited employment arrangement in the form of a special fixed-term employment (SÄVA). This time-limited employment extends for three years. For all lead teachers with time-limited employment, there is a dormant permanent employment contract as a teacher at the workplace where the lead teacher role is performed. Work Tasks In your role as lead teacher, you will primarily work in instruction. In addition to this, you will work on school development tasks identified in the school's systematic quality work. The core of systematic quality work is student learning and goal attainment, so the work as lead teacher is primarily aimed at working together with other teachers at the school to develop instruction in order to increase student learning. Based on areas identified in the school's systematic quality work, you will work together with the school's teachers and management group. In collegial learning, you have a central and important role through mentoring and coaching, as well as through contributing knowledge about research and proven experience. An important task as lead teacher here is also mentoring student teachers and mentorship for newly graduated teachers, in order to contribute to a good introduction to the teaching profession. A more detailed role description will be formulated in consultation between the lead teacher and the assistant principal and principal of the school. This will include the conditions for and content of the role. Qualifications We are seeking someone with a teaching degree and valid teaching credentials. To be considered for the role of lead teacher with us, you should also have the following qualifications: Are a teacher with at least five years of legitimate, well-documented instruction within the school system Have a strong ability to develop instruction by systematically reviewing, improving, and monitoring instruction so that it supports and develops student learning Have a strong ability to drive school development based on the school's systematic quality work in collaboration with school leadership Contribute knowledge about research and proven experience Have developed analytical ability Have a strong ability to lead others in collegial learning Have achieved merit level 2 within the professional program or plan to do so within 3 years. As a person, you are clear and organized and have a strong ability to create conditions for learning and development, both for students and colleagues. You have a genuine interest in development work and actively work to strengthen instruction quality based on research, proven experience, and a scientific approach. You are communicative and have the ability to adapt and convey information clearly based on different recipients' needs and perspectives. By encouraging dialogue, participation, and engagement, you contribute to a culture where collaboration and joint learning are in focus. You are collaboration-oriented and see the value of working together with colleagues to achieve organizational goals. At the same time, you have the ability to take responsibility for and drive development initiatives within your area. Furthermore, you are analytical and have the ability to create a comprehensive picture of the operation and put your own role in a larger context. You can identify and analyze challenges, see connections, and draw well-founded conclusions, even when information is complex or limited. Based on your analyses, you can propose and implement initiatives that contribute to the operation's continued development and students' increased goal attainment.
