Description We are now seeking a driven and development-oriented lead teacher at Gustaviskolan. The lead teacher position is time-limited for 3 years. As a lead teacher, you will be permanently employed as a teacher at your school and have a special fixed-term appointment as a lead teacher for 3 years. After the assignment, you will return to your original teaching position. Gustaviskolan is a small single-stream F-5 school with approximately 150 students. We are Gothenburg's most centrally located municipal school and the only one located within the old fortifications. We are housed in a stately and beautiful school building with the pedagogue as our nearest neighbor. We are currently renovating our school, gaining access to new spaces and a renovated school in terms of both facilities and schoolyard. A school that is being invested in! Job Duties In your role as lead teacher, you will primarily work in teaching. In addition, you will work with school development tasks identified in the school's systematic quality work. The core of systematic quality work is student learning and achievement of learning goals; therefore, work as a lead teacher is primarily focused on developing teaching together with other teachers at the school to increase student learning. Based on areas identified in the school's systematic quality work, you will work together with the school's teachers and management group. In collegial learning, you have a central and important role through mentoring and coaching, as well as by contributing knowledge about research and proven experience. An important task as a lead teacher is mentoring student teachers and mentorship for newly graduated teachers, with the aim of contributing to a good introduction to the teaching profession. A more detailed assignment will be formulated in consultation between the lead teacher and the nearest manager at the school. This should include the conditions for and content of the assignment, as well as when it should be reviewed and possibly revised. Qualifications For the position of lead teacher, we are looking for you as someone who: Is a teacher with at least five years of legitimate teaching experience within the school system. Has a strong ability to develop teaching by systematically reviewing, improving, and following up on teaching in a way that supports and develops student learning. Has a strong ability to drive school development based on the school's systematic quality work in collaboration with school management. Contributes knowledge about research and proven experience. Has developed analytical skills. Has a strong ability to lead others in collegial learning. Has achieved merit level 2 within the professional program or plans to do so within 3 years. For you to succeed in your assignment, it is important that you have a strong ability to create conditions for learning to occur, both for students and colleagues. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different audiences and from different perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You keep yourself updated through environmental monitoring and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your work. You can oversee your own area of responsibility and place your own activities' significance in a larger context. You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and suggest possible solutions.
