Responsibilities
Would you like to help develop preschool education and make a difference for children every day? We are looking for a lead preschool teacher who wants to take a leading role in pedagogical development work and, together with colleagues, create a safe, enjoyable, and educational preschool of high quality.
As a lead preschool teacher, you drive and develop the preschool's activities together with colleagues and the principal, based on the curriculum's goals. Together, you work to create a shared understanding of teaching and learning processes.
In this role, you lead and support colleagues in developing instruction based on scientific evidence and proven experience. You stay updated on current research relevant to preschool education. You are also responsible for leading and developing forums for collegial learning based on the activities' needs and have an expanded responsibility in systematic quality work.
Your duties include:
leading development work that strengthens children's learning and development
serving as a role model in teaching and education
following up, analyzing, and developing instruction together with your team
contributing to ensuring that instruction maintains high and equitable quality
As a lead preschool teacher, you will conduct instruction with at least 50% of your time in direct work with child groups to develop teaching. You will be employed at Bärbyvägen 24, where you will also conduct instruction with child groups, but your lead preschool teacher responsibilities also encompass Brunstorpsvägen 41.
Our preschools are located in a rural setting close to nature, which is a natural part of children's daily life. Our activities are characterized by safety, participation, and curiosity, where children's interests shape our learning environments and instruction. Our pedagogy is clearly inspired by Reggio Emilia, with Bärbyvägen having extensive experience and Brunstorpsvägen in an exciting development phase where this pedagogy is progressively strengthened.
As a lead preschool teacher, you will become part of our community with strong relational values and engaged teams at two smaller units. We work together based on a strength-based and systemic approach that characterizes our culture and collaborative methods. With us, positive language, collegial reflection, and pedagogical documentation are central tools. You will have the opportunity to make a difference within our activities, in collaboration with the principal and colleagues, and contribute to our long-term pedagogical direction where every child experiences: I can, I want to, and I belong.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a certified preschool teacher with at least six years of well-documented experience with preschool instruction. You should be able to demonstrate your experience through documentation from one or more positions. You have a strong ability to systematically and continuously follow up, analyze, and develop instruction so that it promotes children's learning and development. You actively work with systematic quality improvement and drive the preschool's development toward established goals in collaboration with colleagues and the principal.
You contribute knowledge of research and proven experience and have the ability to apply theory to practice. You lead collegial learning and support and challenge colleagues based on a scientific approach. You have developed analytical skills and create engagement and positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. You see opportunities for changes that promote educational development and improvement.
It is meritorious if you have achieved merit level 2 within the professional development program or have begun taking courses and/or participated in practice-based research leading to merit, in order to advance to level two.
It is also meritorious if you have previous experience working with Reggio Emilia-inspired approaches, preferably as a pedagogista, particularly related to learning environments, children's exploration, pedagogical documentation, and project-based working methods. We would appreciate if you have experience with strength-based and systemic approaches that can contribute to our collaborative work. Previous experience in pedagogical development assignments, mentoring, or process leadership is also a significant advantage. Experience working with children with special needs, language development approaches, and alternative communication supports is also meritorious.
We warmly welcome your application!
Interviews are planned for August 11 and 14.
