Your Tasks As a lead early childhood educator in Linköping Municipality, you will have a permanent employment as an early childhood educator and a fixed-term appointment as lead early childhood educator for 1 year. Time for your assignment as lead educator is allocated to 20% of your working time. As an early childhood educator, your starting point is to have overall pedagogical responsibility in the preschool. You are expected to lead and distribute the pedagogical work in the team while contributing to creating collegial learning. The team should work together to plan, teach, document, and evaluate the activities based on the preschool curriculum and other governing documents. As an early childhood educator, you promote each child's development and learning based on their interests, experiences, and needs. Language work is central to us and you create good conditions for children's language development. You foster curiosity and motivation to learn, both in planned activities and spontaneous moments. In your role, you collaborate closely with colleagues and guardians as well as possible contacts with other stakeholders around the child. As a lead early childhood educator, you spend most of your employment working as an early childhood educator in the operation and the remaining time leading competence development, mentoring, coaching, and supporting colleagues. You are driven by developing education and cooperation at your own preschool, while also working for the benefit of the entire area. In the role, you work closely with the assistant principal, principal, and special educator. Together with other lead early childhood educators at Skäggetorp 1 and 2 – forming a shared working group in close collaboration with management – you lead the work for preschool development and increased goal achievement for children. You work to develop teaching so that it is based on scientific foundation and proven experience. Your specific assignment may vary depending on organizational needs and is shaped in collaboration with the management team. Your Workplace Skäggetorp 2 consists of three preschools: Skattegården, Fogdegatan, and Stiglötsgatan, with a total of approximately 244 enrolled children. This position is currently located at Skattegården preschool 72. Our area is multicultural and we operate from an intercultural approach. The preschools focus particularly on language development work, where our priority goal is for each child to increase their ability to converse in Swedish by expanding their vocabulary. During fall 2025, we implemented "Ordskattsamlaren" as a method in our language development approach. The aim of this work is to strengthen children's language development and vocabulary by giving them strategies for learning new words. During 2026, we collaborate with a speech-language pathologist who, together with the management team in the area, contributes to developing and supporting area staff in language development work with a special focus on the youngest children's language development. Our preschools work in collaboration. We have close cooperation with the area's special educators and lead early childhood educators. We also maintain close collaboration and ongoing dialogue with social services in Skäggetorp. As an employed early childhood educator at Skäggetorp preschools, you receive the benefit and opportunity to use 10% of your working time for studies that the employer deems relevant for work in preschool and in the role as early childhood educator. Skäggetorp preschools also have one additional study day per year to enable and focus on identified development areas in the region. About You It is a requirement that you hold early childhood educator certification. As a lead early childhood educator, you have several years of well-recommended experience in the role of early childhood educator. It is a requirement that you have at least four years of experience teaching in curriculum-guided preschool. You have a strong interest in developing teaching. It is a merit if you have experience as a work team leader, lead early childhood educator, or other leadership experience. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in Swedish. This is necessary so that according to the curriculum (Lpfö18), you organize and implement work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development and you ensure that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. In your role as an early childhood educator, you are well aware of the goals and quality standards for preschool activities. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in an attentive and flexible way in teaching and daily preschool activities. You create good relationships and cooperate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role. You lead work with both children and colleagues through motivation, engagement, and participation. As a lead early childhood educator, you are a knowledge resource for others and continuously maintain your knowledge. In this recruitment process, we use language tests in the selection.
