About the Operation
Orthopedics in Dalarna will be consolidated under a common operations manager as of 2026-01-01.
The Orthopedic Clinic at Mora Hospital provides orthopedic outpatient and inpatient care. The operation consists of an orthopedic outpatient clinic that receives 15,000 visits annually and an inpatient ward with 20 beds. The Orthopedic Clinic is an important part of Mora Hospital as a surgical acute care hospital. Operatively, both acute and elective procedures are performed (hip, knee, shoulder, foot, and some hand surgery). Proximity to Dalarna's mountain tourism results in a large influx of acute orthopedic patients during winter, which has strongly contributed to the clinic's high level of expertise in fracture surgery. The clinic ranks highly in several orthopedic quality registers. Orthopedic operations take place in the central operating room, in a day surgery operating unit, and also at the orthopedic outpatient clinic where minor procedures are performed under local anesthesia. Approximately 2,500 orthopedic operations are performed annually in the operating rooms. Close collaboration occurs with the OR/Anesthesia/ICU clinic and other clinics at Mora Hospital, as well as with the Orthopedic Clinic in Falun. In addition, we have close collaboration with UAS, USÖ, and Sarkomcentrum at KS.
Work Tasks
The Orthopedic Clinic in Mora has a physician group of approximately 15 employees. Here you will have the opportunity to influence, inspire, and lead a team that provides high-quality orthopedic care. Our greatest challenge within Region Dalarna is currently our accessibility. We have a goal of balancing our waiting lists and meeting care guarantees. We also focus on developing Dala Orthopedics by clarifying and strengthening collaboration between the clinics in Mora and Falun. You will have an important role in reaching these goals. You will be part of the clinic's management team. The position of first line manager for the physician group is a limited-term assignment combined with a permanent employment in your basic profession. You will represent the Orthopedic Clinic both externally and internally and are expected to contribute to good collaboration and development of, and a holistic perspective on, Dala healthcare and its care processes. You are the manager of attending physicians, specialist physicians, and resident physicians. You have personnel and work environment responsibility including employee conversations, salary discussions, and rehabilitation matters. You are also responsible for staffing and recruitment of the clinic's physicians as well as planning of training. The role also includes budget responsibility and operational responsibility where development and follow-up of operational goals are important parts.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Licensed physician or nurse
Experience from clinical work in orthopedics
Good communication and collaboration skills
Very good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written
Good knowledge of English
Class B driver's license
Meritorious:
Completed management and leadership training
Previous experience with change management
Previous work as a first line manager or operations manager
