All permanent staff will be offered work clothes. If you are a newly graduated preschool teacher, you will be assigned a mentor to help you get a good start in your profession. In a natural setting near Kvarnarpssjön in Eksjö, the newly built Jordgubbsbacken preschool opened in August 2023. The preschool is built in wood and characterized by nature, both outdoors and indoors. Educators and children have been involved in the process together with the architect, property owner, municipal gardener, and preschool leadership. Jordgubbsbacken consists of six ground-level departments. The floor plan is optimized for community, collaboration, accessibility, supervision, privacy, and recreation. Older children eat in the restaurant Tallriken, while younger children receive meals delivered to their departments. In the center of the preschool is an atrium that invites creative activities as well as calm and relaxation. The upper level houses staff spaces that contribute to a good work environment and provide excellent conditions for carrying out the preschool teacher role. Profile and Work Approach The preschool's profile is Health-Promoting Outdoor Environments and Sustainable Development. To plan the outdoor environment, we have drawn knowledge from research projects and collaborated with the municipality's municipal gardener. The outdoor environments offer rich opportunities for discovery where children's curiosity and learning are stimulated. We grow vegetables in raised beds and make use of our harvest. The preschool has a teaching kitchen with an adjoining prep area, allowing us to offer food from farm to table in line with our profile. The youngest children sleep/rest in designated outdoor rest areas. Our pedagogical approach is based on seeing the child as competent and recognizing that meaningful interactions can contribute to development and learning. WORK RESPONSIBILITIES The preschool teacher role involves special pedagogical responsibility for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating education based on education law, curriculum, and activity plan. Provide each child with secure care and promote all children's development and learning. Ensure each child has real influence over work methods and content. Ensure development conversation content, format, and implementation align with national goals. Contribute to the preschool offering an environment that inspires, develops, and challenges children's learning through meaningful creation. Work from a professional approach to your role according to the curriculum. Vary your work methods to work with the team in developing an engaging and educational environment that lays the foundation for lifelong learning. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher. As a preschool teacher, you have good knowledge of the governing documents that form the basis for preschool work. You are responsible and engaged in systematic quality work. You have a positive attitude, good collaboration skills, and you communicate from a solution-focused perspective in every interaction with colleagues, children, and guardians. You are open to learning from others and contribute with your own knowledge and experience. Your pedagogical relationships are built on attentiveness and dialogue. You keep the child in focus and treat everyone with care, kindness, and respect. You are a driven and competent preschool teacher with good leadership qualities who willingly takes responsibility and contributes to the development of teaching. We would like to see that you have interest in or experience with outdoor pedagogy. It is advantageous if you play a musical instrument and can use music as part of teaching.
