Research & Development Nordost is a research and development unit owned by the municipalities of Danderyd, Norrtälje, Vaxholm and the municipal association for healthcare and social services in Norrtälje, together with Region Stockholm. Research & Development Nordost works to ensure that practice-oriented research, development work and implementation of new knowledge form a driving force across all areas of social services, as well as in related healthcare in Region Stockholm, with the goal of strengthening a knowledge-based social services. We support the municipalities in their transition work ahead of the new Social Services Act and the development toward good and accessible care. During 2026 and 2027, a special initiative will also be carried out to implement the new dementia strategy, in a unique inter-regional collaboration. Research & Development Nordost is a relatively small unit where we assist each other with both operational and strategic matters, large and small. We are located in pleasant office premises in Danderyds Centrum, with the possibility of some remote work. At the turn of the year, we are moving to new premises in Norrtälje. We are now seeking a research director who wants to contribute to the development of social services and related healthcare through practice-oriented research and development. WORK TASKS As a research director, you plan, lead and conduct research and development projects in close cooperation with social services operations, academia and other relevant stakeholders. You contribute with theoretical and methodological expertise, support the implementation of evidence-based approaches, and guide and support development initiatives through, for example, project management and workshops. The role involves both independent work and close collaboration with managers, process leaders and other experts in the operations. The assignment also includes representing the operations, monitoring the external environment, disseminating knowledge and good practices, and actively contributing to the Research & Development unit's development work. You promote increased collaboration between research and practice and build long-term partnerships with authorities, municipalities, other research and development operations, and various social services operations. QUALIFICATIONS To succeed in the role of research director, you need both the ability to take initiative and work independently as well as good collaboration skills, as projects are often conducted in cooperation. Other qualities that are important for the position are that you are organized and have the ability to organize and plan your work, and that you are analytical and can see logic and connections in complex information. It is further important in the role of research director to be creative and able to see and find new paths and solutions to problems. We would like you to have: • A doctoral or licentiate degree in social work, medicine, sociology or other education that the employer deems equivalent. • Several years of practical experience from work within social services or healthcare, as the work takes place in close proximity to operations. • Good knowledge of scientific methods and research methodology. • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Meritorious would be if you have: • Practical experience working with and leading collaboration between municipalities and regions. • Experience in organizing and leading participant-active workshops and training initiatives. • Experience working with quantitative methods, analyzing data and presenting results in an understandable way. • Experience in evaluation and systematic follow-up work, e.g. individual-based systematic follow-up (ISU). • Knowledge and experience of having worked with implementation processes.
