Job Responsibilities
Cell Technology Group (CETEG, Dept. Industrial Biotechnology, CBH School, KTH, Stockholm), has extensive experience in developing biopharmaceutical and biological drug bioprocesses for human therapy. CETEG is led by Prof. Veronique Chotteau, who is Director of AdBIOPRO, a Competence Centre for Advanced Bioproduction by Continuous Processing, in collaboration with Lund University, Karolinska Institute, Linköping University, Karolinska Hospital, and 15 Swedish companies in the protein drug/biotechnology industry.
CETEG's activities include bioprocessing of perfusion processes with very high cell density and fed-batch processes, metabolic flux analysis modeling and on-line process monitoring, all aimed at process development of industrial production of protein drugs, viral vectors, or human cells for therapy.
The group, consisting of 10 people, is a multidisciplinary team with researchers, post-docs, doctoral candidates and master's students. CETEG's activities are characterized by collaboration with academic groups at KTH, in Sweden and in Europe, as well as international companies and SMEs. Cell Technology Group now has an open temporary position as Research Engineer. The practical work will take place at KTH, AlbaNova Centre.
The Research Engineer will support CETEG's activities with the following tasks:
Coordination of laboratory functions for various laboratory activities, and support for AdBIOPRO
Support research projects and contract research, e.g. culture processes, analyses, purification processes, and reporting
Contact with suppliers regarding equipment and reagents and application of rules according to KTH's procurement framework, e.g. procurement - Contact with other groups within the Industrial Biotechnology Department and CBH School regarding laboratory activities, environmental review and safety
Induction and training for newcomers as well as practical experience in mammalian cell culture
Registries in use within CETEG, e.g. chemical inventory, cell bank
Qualifications
Requirements
Completed degree at basic or advanced level (higher education), such as civil engineer, in biotechnology or equivalent competence
Knowledge of mammalian cell culture, including bioreactor operation
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, as you will work in an international environment and it is required in daily work
