We are seeking a research engineer at the Department of Computer Science with a focus on developing laboratory environments for research and education in cybersecurity. About the position Your responsibilities will consist of developing and further developing systems for research and teaching in cybersecurity and adaptive software systems. Furthermore, the work will include working with research articles and teaching assignments. About you We are looking for someone with deep technical understanding of cybersecurity architectures and is motivated to develop environments to enable cutting-edge research in cybersecurity and education. You are expected to collaborate with colleagues and work together to support the research group's activities. We want you to have: Master's degree in computer science or similar. Significant documented experience with software development, especially related to systems and environments for cybersecurity evaluation. Significant documented experience with large-scale software development in *nix environments, including version control, testing, continuous integration, and documentation, for example through active contribution to larger open source projects. Scientific curiosity and the ability to think independently. Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in English. It is a merit if you have: Doctorate in an area relevant to the position. Knowledge of and published research in cybersecurity, software engineering, and/or adaptive systems. Documented experience with virtualization environments. Documented experience with system administration, e.g. Ansible and Linux. Your workplace You will work in the Cybersecurity Division where research focuses on securing the most critical functions of the digital society. In a large number of national and European projects, methods are developed for, for example, verification, intrusion detection, and AI-based cybersecurity. The research also includes protection of critical infrastructure, such as smart grids and secure software supply chains. In the university's cybersecurity laboratory, vulnerabilities in isolated systems are analyzed to develop new research methods and train students and professionals.
