Description of the workplace The position is in the research group Neuroendocrine Cell Biology, EMV, Faculty of Medicine, Lund University. The group consists of group leader Nils Wierup, three to four postdocs with different areas of expertise, one half-time doctoral student, and one visiting researcher. Work tasks and responsibilities You will be responsible for a project on RNA modifications in beta cells. The model systems used are INS-1 cells and isolated pancreatic islets. Analysis methods include qPCR, IHC, and Western blot. You will perform CRISPR-based silencing of specific genes and independently analyze the results and compile data into publication-quality material. Qualifications Requirements for employment: PhD in molecular biology Postdoctoral training in a relevant field Fluent English Experience with CRISPR-based editing or silencing, cell culture, qPCR, and morphometric analysis Documented experience with RNA editing, demonstrated through scientific articles in international journals Documented experience with type 2 diabetes research Correspondence with scientific journals and responsibility for submission and revision processes Meritorious for employment: Documented experience (authorship in international journals) with RNA modifications in eukaryotic cells. Other information The position is a special fixed-term employment for 12 months at 100% capacity. Desired start date September 11, 2026, or by agreement.
