The Swedish Research Council is Sweden's largest government research funder and plays a leading role in developing and financing Swedish research of the highest scientific quality. We are now looking for a research administrator to provide important support in this work! Role Description and Responsibilities Approximately 7,500 applications for research grants are submitted to the Swedish Research Council each year. These applications are reviewed by approximately 900 active researchers with expertise in the relevant areas. The Research Financing Division is responsible for announcing grants, ensuring that submitted applications are reviewed, and monitoring the outcomes of each year's assessment and decisions. As a research administrator, you will be administratively responsible for a number of review committees that assess and prioritize applications based on scientific quality. Your responsibilities will include recruiting members for review committees, administering and processing research grant applications, maintaining ongoing contact with members of the review committees you are responsible for, and serving as the meeting coordinator at committee meetings. You will also participate in informing researchers seeking grants about the application process and applicable requirements. The position is located at one of the units within the Research Financing Division, where you will be part of the unit's area of responsibility. You may also be involved in various projects and other tasks within the Research Financing Division or in collaboration with other divisions. The work involves teamwork with colleagues at the agency and extensive contact with researchers in various roles. Operations are periodically driven by deadlines with tight timeframes, requiring the ability to structure and prioritize. Our agency language is Swedish, while external communication is largely conducted in English. Who Are You? We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We Are Looking for Someone Who Has - a university or college degree or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent - several years of current and relevant experience with administrative and case handling work - good knowledge of programs included in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel - the ability to express yourself well, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English It Is Advantageous If You Have - current and relevant experience working with some form of case management system - several years of experience working at a government agency and/or within research financing - experience using AI and/or automating workflows in your work - current knowledge of the research system and researchers' conditions and requirements Location Our office is activity-based and located at Hantverkargatan 11 in central Stockholm. If your work tasks allow, there is an opportunity to work remotely on a part-time basis. Employment Type and Start Date We offer a fixed-term employment contract for approximately 12 months with a start date in October 2026 or by agreement. Interested?
