The position involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting life cycle analysis data for fish farmed in Northern Swedish hydroelectric power station reservoirs and the subsequent stages needed for the fish to reach consumers, such as fish processing and retail. Currently, less than 10,000 tons of fish are farmed in Sweden, but in a second study, which is also part of the duties, a life cycle analysis will be conducted on incorporating scaled-up quantities of fish, approximately 100,000 tons, into Swedish diet to test the effect of various dietary shifts. The work is part of the research project Fish Farming in the North, which aims to investigate whether and how Arctic char and rainbow trout can be farmed sustainably in existing hydroelectric power station reservoirs in the Norrland interior from biological, ecological, social, and economic perspectives. The work is conducted in close collaboration with SLU Umeå and external project partners, which may involve work-related travel.
The assignment also includes contributing to scientific publications and communication of research results.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Master's degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to the position, such as technology, biology, environmental science, food science, or sustainable development.
The position holder must be able to communicate fluently in Swedish and English.
Meritorious:
Knowledge of the fish industry, skills in modeling using life cycle analysis tools, and experience with life cycle analysis of feed, fish farming, food industry, and entire food systems are meritorious.
Methodological knowledge in the life cycle analysis field, including newer aspects such as biodiversity or animal welfare, is also meritorious, as is the ability to write scientific text and graphically visualize research results.
Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities, such as collaboration ability, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
