Work Tasks The energy system is undergoing a fundamental transformation driven by the rapid integration of renewable energy, electric vehicles, and large-scale AI data centers. Power electronic converters play a crucial role in enabling this transition, while simultaneously introducing new challenges related to system dynamics, stability, and control. This project focuses on developing modeling, stability analysis, control, and hardware solutions for converter-dominated power systems. Application areas include next-generation megawatt-scale charging infrastructure for heavy-duty electric vehicles and power electronic systems supporting AI data centers. The project is funded by the EU Clean Energy Transition Partnership and the Swedish Energy Agency. The recruited researcher will join the Department of Electrical Power and Energy Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where they will work closely with world-leading power electronics groups at the University of Padova, Aalborg University, Chalmers University of Technology, and with a set of industrial partners, such as Hitachi Energy, Energiforsk, Svenska kraftnät, and Volvo Energy. Qualifications Requirements Completed doctoral degree or foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. Research expertise in power electronics and hardware development.
