The Department of Medicine, Division of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, conducts translational research primarily focused on metabolism, diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease with the aim of improving health and healthcare in society. The overall goal is to create an excellent translational research environment of very high international standard. Work in the research group in Molecular Epidemiology and Cardiology is directed toward translational studies to understand the mechanisms behind and improve prevention and treatment for heart failure and cardiomuscular disease. The group consists of molecular biologists, bioinformaticians, epidemiologists, and clinicians. Responsibilities The researcher will be responsible in the group for conducting work with cell models (especially cardiomyocytes), animal models (mice), and a number of specific molecular biological cutting-edge techniques on human heart tissue within the framework of ongoing projects, including single cell (nuclei) isolation, spatial transcriptomics, and proteostasis analyses. Qualifications We seek a researcher with a doctoral degree in molecular biology and experience in preclinical and translational studies of cardiovascular disease. Documented experience with the mentioned methods is therefore of great importance. Good knowledge of Swedish and/or English is a requirement. A strong background in cell models and animal models is also a requirement. Experience with cardiac models is highly meriting, as is experience with transcriptomics and proteostasis studies of heart tissue. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. It is important that the applicant can collaborate well with other researchers and clinicians within a larger team. The applicant should also demonstrate good independence and have a structured work approach.
