Investigations, Analysis, and Teamwork As an insurance investigator, you handle applications for assistance compensation. In this role, you meet individuals who, due to illness or functional impairment, may need help meeting their basic needs. You conduct qualified investigations and analyses of documentation, particularly medical reports, and assess whether the individual is entitled to compensation for personal assistance. You then submit your recommendation for a decision to be made by specially appointed decision-makers. As an insurance investigator, you meet the person in individual meetings, usually by phone, Skype, and in writing, but also through home visits. You are responsible for maintaining contact and collaboration with other stakeholders, such as municipalities, personal representatives, and health care services. The work tasks are largely administrative, which includes ongoing documentation and calculations of the number of assistance hours. You are part of a team that plans and distributes work. You work actively to develop your knowledge and share your experiences. As a new employee, you receive comprehensive introductory training and support from a mentor. As an insurance investigator, you handle confidential information, which places higher demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have strong security awareness.
