Investigations, Analysis, and Teamwork As an insurance investigator, you process applications for assistance compensation. In this role, you meet people who, due to illness or disability, may need help with their basic needs. You conduct qualified investigations and analyses of documentation, particularly medical reports, and assess whether the individual is entitled to compensation for personal assistance. You then present a recommendation for a decision that is made by designated decision-makers. As an insurance investigator, you meet the person in personal meetings, usually by phone, Skype, and written correspondence, but also through home visits. You are responsible for contacts and collaboration with other actors, such as municipalities, personal representatives, and healthcare providers. The work tasks are largely administrative, including ongoing documentation and calculations of assistance hours. You work in a team that plans and distributes work. You actively develop your knowledge and share your experiences. As a new employee, you receive comprehensive introductory training and support from a mentor. As an insurance investigator, you handle confidential information, which places higher demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you have a strong security awareness.
