JOB DUTIES The work tasks primarily involve investigations of material collected during criminal investigations related to explosions or explosives. The work includes microscopy, certain instrumental analyses, wet chemical tests, and compilation and reporting of investigation results. Additional investigation types within the chemistry field may become relevant. At NFC, you will undergo internal training and education with subsequent examination before you are authorized to independently practice the forensic profession. The training period lasts approximately two years. You will also collaborate with other sections/groups at NFC. The assignment includes direct contact with clients within the legal system and, when needed, serving as an expert witness in court. NFC is responsible for training in forensic science, so with time, training of personnel within the legal system will also be included. QUALIFICATIONS This is an opportunity for you who have: • an academic degree at the bachelor's level in chemistry • excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • good knowledge of English, both spoken and written • satisfactory color, number, and letter vision It is a merit if you also have: • an academic degree at the master's level in a relevant field • experience with explosives • experience with ISO-certified quality work • experience in conducting training and lectures Personal Qualities We are looking for someone who has the ability to adapt your communication to different audiences and contexts in a clear manner. The role requires you to drive your own work forward daily through structure and prioritization skills.
